Welcome to HalalScreener. These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the HalalScreener website and services at halalscreener.app (the "Service"), operated by HalalScreener ("we," "our," or "us").
By accessing or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.
1. Description of Service
HalalScreener provides a Shariah-compliant stock, ETF, and cryptocurrency screening platform based on AAOIFI (Accounting and Auditing Organization for Islamic Financial Institutions) standards. The Service includes:
- Stock, ETF, and cryptocurrency screening for Shariah compliance
- Watchlist management and portfolio tracking
- Purification (dividend cleansing) calculations
- Financial data and compliance analysis
2. Accounts and Registration
- You may browse limited content as a guest. Full access requires creating an account.
- You must provide accurate and complete information when creating an account.
- You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials.
- You must be at least 16 years old to create an account.
- One account per person. Multiple accounts may be terminated.
3. Subscription Plans and Payment
Free Plan
The free plan provides limited access to screening results, watchlist slots, and basic features as described on our pricing page.
Paid Plans (Pro and Premium)
- Paid subscriptions are billed monthly through our payment processor, Polar.
- Prices are listed in USD and are subject to change with notice.
- Your subscription renews automatically unless cancelled before the renewal date.
- Pro plans include a 7-day free trial. You may cancel during the trial period without charge.
Cancellation and Refunds
- You may cancel your subscription at any time through the Settings page or by contacting us.
- Upon cancellation, you retain access until the end of your current billing period.
- Refunds are handled on a case-by-case basis. Contact support@halalscreener.app for refund requests.
4. Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- Use the Service for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable laws
- Scrape, crawl, or use automated tools to extract data from the Service without permission
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of the Service or its systems
- Interfere with or disrupt the Service or servers
- Resell, redistribute, or commercially exploit the Service or its data without authorization
- Share your account credentials or allow others to access your account
- Circumvent any access restrictions, rate limits, or tier limitations

Not Financial Advice
The Service is for informational and educational purposes only. Nothing provided by HalalScreener constitutes financial, investment, tax, or legal advice. You should consult with qualified professionals before making any investment decisions. We are not registered financial advisors, brokers, or dealers.
Not a Fatwa
HalalScreener's screening results are not religious rulings (fatwas). Our compliance analysis is based on publicly available AAOIFI screening criteria and financial data. Different scholars and screening bodies may reach different conclusions. You should consult with your own Islamic scholar or Shariah advisor for personal religious guidance on investment matters.
Data Accuracy
While we strive to provide accurate and up-to-date information, we rely on third-party data providers (Financial Modeling Prep, CoinGecko, Yahoo Finance) and cannot guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or timeliness of all data. Financial data may be delayed or contain errors. Always verify important information through official sources.
6. Intellectual Property
- The Service, including its design, features, content, and branding, is owned by HalalScreener and protected by intellectual property laws.
- You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the Service for personal, non-commercial purposes.
- You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works based on the Service without our written permission.
7. Third-Party Services
The Service integrates with third-party services for functionality. These include:
- Polar for payment processing
- Google for authentication
- Financial Modeling Prep and CoinGecko for financial data
Your use of these third-party services is subject to their respective terms and privacy policies. We are not responsible for the availability or accuracy of third-party services.
8. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law:
- The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied.
- We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of harmful components.
- We shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Service.
- Our total liability to you for any claims shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim.
- We are not liable for any investment losses incurred based on information provided by the Service.
9. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless HalalScreener and its officers, employees, and agents from any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, or expenses arising from your use of the Service or violation of these Terms.
10. Account Termination
- You may delete your account at any time through the Settings page.
- We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms or engage in fraudulent or harmful activity.
- Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases immediately. Data deletion follows our Privacy Policy.
11. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by posting the updated Terms on this page and updating the "Last updated" date. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
12. Governing Law
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with applicable laws, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes shall be resolved through good-faith negotiation first, and if necessary, through binding arbitration.
13. Severability
If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall continue in full force and effect.
