The company primarily focuses its prospecting efforts on deposits containing silver, copper, lead, zinc, and gold. In Mexico, Sierra Metals fully owns two other substantial mining interests: the Bolivar mine, which comprises 12 concessions covering 15,217 hectares, and the Cusi Mines, encompassing 73 concessions across 11,977 hectares. Founded in 1996, the company is headquartered in Toronto, Canada. It operated under the name Dia Bras Exploration Inc. until December 2012, when it officially adopted its current identity as Sierra Metals Inc.
