Lending, Yield and Derivatives Tokens: which are halal?

HalalScreener screens 48 lending, yield and derivatives tokens on what each coin does. On the latest screen: 48 Not Halal.

How this category is screened

Tokens whose protocol lends at interest, pays a yield from interest or funding rates, or runs perpetual futures, options or other leveraged derivatives. Interest is riba, and contemporary scholars treat leveraged derivative contracts as impermissible speculation (gharar and maisir). This group screens Not Halal.

A verdict covers buying the coin spot and holding it. Margin, leverage, futures and fixed-yield lending accounts fail whatever the coin.

Coins are screened on published scholarly opinion about what they do, because AAOIFI has not issued a cryptocurrency standard. Scholars who prohibit all cryptocurrency, or who withhold a ruling on it, would not accept any coin on this list. This is a screen, not a fatwa.
